| Description: | W. M. Keck Observatory operates two of the world’s largest optical/infrared telescopes located on the summit of Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii. Each telescope is equipped with a full suite of instruments designed to perform exciting, cutting edge astronomical research.
This position provides electronics engineering and project management to support the development of new observatory capabilities and upgrades to existing observatory systems.

| Duties: | This individual uses a background in the specification, integration with COTS parts, planning, construction, and testing of high technology electronic and electrical systems to accomplish astronomical project goals at the Keck Observatory. The Senior Electrical Engineer works primarily at WMKO headquarters in Waimea renowned as one of Hawaii's most livable communities. |
| Qualifications: | The position requires a BSEE or equivalent.
Also required are experience developing configuration management for electronic systems along with designing integration systems and implementing upgrades with new capabilities on operational systems.
